At Wendy’s Bridal Columbus, we understand the importance of looking your best on your wedding day. That’s why we offer on-site alterations by expert fitters trained specifically for wedding attire. Here’s how our alteration process works:
Before Alterations
Once your gown arrives from the manufacturer, schedule a “Bridal Gown Pick Up” appointment to meet your actual dress and try it on! During your pickup, you will then schedule your initial fitting appointment with our seamstress.
Timing
We suggest allowing 3-4 months for bridal gown alterations and 2-3 months for bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses. This timeframe ensures that all necessary adjustments can be made without rushing.
Alteration Process
Most gowns require some customization. Our skilled fitters will tailor your dress to fit your body perfectly, considering every detail to make it look custom-made for you. It’s important to bring the undergarments and the actual shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day to ensure accurate measurements. You will have up to three appointments with your seamstress.
The first appointment (scheduled at your bridal gown pick up) will be for the seamstress to measure your hem and pin your dress to the fit of your liking. During the second appointment, you will try on your gown again to see the alterations your seamstress made from your first appointment. A third appointment will be needed if you request additional changes to be made to further adjust the fit or to learn how to bustle your dress for the big day.

Final Touches and Pressing
After the alterations are complete, you will be offered the option to use our pressing services at an additional cost. Our professional pressers will finish your gown (and veil if you wish) with pristine attention to detail, making sure every layer and embellishment is flawless and aisle ready.
